When placed in dangerous situations, Police K-9s go in ahead of other officers - often without the protective equipment afforded their human counterparts.  They work hard every day so that we may have safe communities to live, work and raise our families.  With limited budgets, most agencies simply cannot afford to vest their K-9s.
